David M. Adler is an attorney, author, educator, entrepreneur, and founder of a boutique intellectual property law firm, Adler Law Group. The firm is professionally recognized as a leader counseling businesses across the interrelated areas of Intellectual Property, Arts, Entertainment & Media, Communications & Technology, and Corporate Law.

David has been designated by his peers as an Illinois Leading Lawyer since 2016 and an Illinois SuperLawyer® since 2012 in the areas of Intellectual Property and Entertainment & Sports Law. His articles also appear in Illinois State Bar journals and trade journals such as The ABA’s SciTech newsletter, and Landslide, the magazine of the ABA Intellectual Property Section. David is licensed in Illinois and New York, a member of the Illinois State Bar, New York State Bar, Federal General Bar and Federal Trial Bar, and was the former chairperson of the Illinois State Bar Association Privacy and Information Security Section. David has been admitted in the Northern District of IL, the Southern District of NY, and pro hac vice in federal courts in California, Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

David received his law degree from the DePaul University College of Law in 1997 where he wrote for the DePaul Arts & Entertainment Law Journal. He received a Bachelor of the Arts in English and a Bachelor of the Arts in History from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
